This is The Story So Far. Turning the pages of a new chapter, the American pop-punk band is embarking on a U.S. tour this fall. Following a series of global shows, the band is hitting the stage for another ride of their hits, all-time favorites, and new music. Following the release of their first album in six years, "I Want To Disappear", this fall tour stands to support their newest effort which has been listed by Alternative Press as one of the best albums of 2024.
In 2007, the band was formed in Walnut Creek, with the band's name inspired by the New Found Glory song. In 2011, they released their first full-length album "Under Soil and Dirt" which was well-received by critics and rocked hard to by punk fans. The record made it to Rock Sound's "The 51 Most Essential Pop Punk Albums of All Time" list at #26. From then on, the band dominated the scene with their signature sound and storytelling abilities. Known for their "edgier" take on the genre, they've also served a blend of hardcore punk and punk-rock-driven soundscapes.
This record marks the band's fifth full-length release, a follow-up to 2018's "Proper Dose" where they introduced indie rock energies to their sound. This time, the album dives deep into the bittersweet core of their sound, shaping their pop-punk legacy with growth & maturity.
"The Story So Far are masters of their trade, and it’s a style that they long ago stopped to adhere to and started to mold to their whim," Everything Is Noise said in their review of the album.
Having been through a lot the past six years, fans sure are happy to see that the band made it out strong. With themes of grief, anger, and of course growth up their sleeves, this album solidifies the band's position as a quintessential pop-punk band to listen to.
"We’re always just trying to make something that we love and that feels like it’s relevant to where we are in life," the band shared via Melodic Magazine. "We’ve already done so much in the past, but we wanted this to feel like the present thing that we are. We tried to make something that we connected with, and that hopefully our fans will like as well. But first and foremost, it’s just something that we’re proud of and feel good about."
All in all, the band's newest material sums up everything we've grown to love about their music. The attitudes, honest delivery, rockin' instrumentation, and the overall vibe. The Story So Far will keep on turning the pages.
